DSG’s report on institution options to strenghten UN’s work on gender equality
[New York, July 2008] The UN Deputy General Secretary, Rose-Ashe Migiro (left), has released a paper outlining the options for what gender equality architecture will look like. This vision promises to bring about new institutional arrangements for gender equality and women’s empowerment that deliver implementation at the country level. These organisational arrangements could serve to stimulate the momentum towards the attainment of these goals. A strong commitment to improving the UN’s capacity for gender equality and women’s empowerment should be accompanied by decisive action.
